Hear the job and the phone call at once.
Jam sealed earbuds in both ears and you have switched off your best warning system. The reversing beeper, the vehicle coming up the track, the workmate yelling out — you miss the small cue, and small cues are where incidents start.
This headset takes the opposite approach. The speakers sit outside your ear on flexible silicone hooks, so calls, podcasts and navigation come through clearly while the world stays fully audible. Nothing goes in your ear canal, nothing seals you off.
When a call needs to sound professional, snap on the magnetic boom microphone — it puts a noise-reduced mic in front of your mouth for the ute, the boat deck or the desk. Pull it off and you are back to a bare set of about 30 grams that stays put all day.
What It Does
- Keeps your ears open: open-ear design rests outside the ear, so ambient sound — traffic, machinery, voices — reaches you the whole time you are listening.
- Cleans up your calls: the detachable boom mic uses DSP noise reduction so the person on the other end hears you, not the engine behind you.
- Runs two devices at once: dual connection links a phone and a laptop or tablet together, with a supplier-stated range of up to 10 m without obstacles.
- Lasts a full day: the supplier states up to 12 hours of listening at 60% volume from the 150 mAh battery, with about 1.5 hours to recharge over USB Type-C.
- Handles sweat and rain: IPX5 water resistant — fine in wet weather and hard work, not built for submersion.
Key Features
- Bluetooth 5.3: HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP protocols; pairs with iOS, Android and Windows devices.
- Detachable boom mic: magnetic snap-on fitting, rotates through 360 degrees, DSP noise reduction for the listener on the other end.
- 15.4 mm drivers: larger-than-earbud speakers to carry voice and music in open air.
- Dual-device connection: hold a link to two devices at the same time and take whichever one rings.
- On-set controls: volume, track skip, mute, answer or reject calls, voice assistant and a music/game mode switch, all from buttons on the pod.
- USB Type-C charging: modern connector, supplier-stated charge time of about 1.5 hours.
- Light and flexible: about 30 g on the head, with a memory-wire neckband the supplier states can bend freely without deforming.
- IPX5 rated: resists sweat, rain and splashes from any direction.
Limits
Straight up, here is what this headset does not do.
- It is not noise cancelling for you: the DSP noise reduction works on the call microphone, for the benefit of the person you are talking to. There is no active noise cancellation for your own ears — an open-ear headset lets sound in on purpose. If you want silence, this is the wrong tool; pick a sealed set instead.
- It is not hearing protection: it blocks nothing. On a loud site you still need your muffs or plugs, exactly as you would bare-eared.
- IPX5 is not submersion: sweat, rain and splashes are fine. Swimming, showering and dunking it are not — it carries no rating for immersion.
- Open-ear has trade-offs: at high volume, people close to you can hear some of what you are playing, and bass is lighter than a sealed earbud can deliver.
- Battery figures are the supplier's: the 12-hour listening figure is stated at 60% volume. Run it flat out and expect less.
- Calls without the boom: the noise-reduced microphone lives in the detachable boom. The supplier does not state a second microphone in the headset body, so fit the boom when call quality matters.
Q & A
Will it block out engine or site noise?
No — the opposite, by design. It keeps your ears open so you stay aware of what is around you. The noise reduction is on the call mic and helps the person you are talking to, not you.
Can I wear it in the rain, or swimming?
Rain and sweat, yes — it is IPX5 water resistant. Swimming, showering or submerging it, no. It carries no immersion rating.
Can I connect my phone and laptop at the same time?
Yes. The supplier states dual-device connection over Bluetooth 5.3, with a range of up to 10 m without obstacles. Take a call on the phone while the laptop stays linked.
How long does the battery really last?
The cell is 150 mAh, printed on the frame itself. The supplier states up to 12 hours of listening at 60% volume and about 1.5 hours to recharge over Type-C. Standby figures for this model vary between supplier documents — 150 to 200 hours — so treat standby as an estimate.
Does it work with my device?
It pairs like any Bluetooth headset. The supplier lists iOS, Android and Windows, and the HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP protocols cover calls and music on standard gear.
Do I have to use the boom mic?
Only for calls where you want the noise reduction working for you. For listening, pull it off — the magnetic fitting snaps it on and off in a second, and the bare headset weighs about 30 g.
