Worth knowing

  • Rinse it and dry it open: a bladder put away wet grows things you do not want to drink.
  • Close the bite valve before packing: squash a full bladder with the valve open and it empties into your gear.
  • Bladder sizes are nominal: 3 litres is filled to the brim, which is not how you actually carry one.
