Worth knowing

• Measure your waist, not your trouser size: belt sizing and trouser sizing are not the same number, and they are rarely close.
• A load belt needs padding: a thin webbing belt with pouches hung off it digs in within an hour. The padded MOLLE belts are the ones for weight.
• Quick-release works both ways: it is fast, which is the point. Check it is properly latched before you load it up.
