Water on your webbing, not back in the ute.

If you work or play in a MOLLE vest or plate carrier, water is the thing that never has a home. A backpack will not sit over the vest, a bottle in a pouch is empty by smoko, and walking back for a drink is how the drink gets skipped. Skip it long enough on a hot day and the headache and the sloppy footwork turn up before you notice you are behind.

This panel fixes the mounting problem. Six hook-and-loop straps weave through the PALS webbing on the back of a plate carrier, vest or pack, and it carries a drink bladder plus two zip pockets of kit where a backpack cannot go. Route the tube over either shoulder, bite, sip, keep moving.

Straight up about the box: there is no bladder included. This is the carrier only, and the honest fit numbers are in the Limits tab before you go buying one.

What It Does
  • Mounts where a pack cannot: six hook-and-loop rear straps lash it to any PALS webbing — the supplier names JPC, SPC and 6094 style plate carriers.
  • Carries your bladder: hook-and-loop bladder bay with a hanging tab and a tube exit at either top corner.
  • Adds real storage: a full-width middle zip compartment for flat kit and a front zip organiser pocket.
  • Stacks more kit: three bar-tacked PALS rows on the face take extra pouches when the job grows.
  • Keeps your ID on show: loop field on the front pocket for patches.
Key Features
  • Mounting: six hook-and-loop rear straps for PALS/MOLLE webbing on carriers, vests and packs.
  • Bladder bay: hook-and-loop flap, internal hanging tab, tube ports both sides.
  • Middle compartment: full-width zip pocket for maps, tools and flat kit.
  • Front pocket: zip organiser with a loop patch panel on the face.
  • Face webbing: three PALS rows for additional pouches.
  • Fabric: nylon, water-repellent and quick-dry as stated by the supplier; the manufacturer's own listing describes it as 500D Cordura.
  • Zips: the manufacturer's listing states YKK zips.
  • Grab tab: top centre, for carrying it off the vest or hanging it to dry.
  • Five colourways: black, khaki, army green, and two camouflage patterns (CP and Black CP).

Limits

  • No bladder in the box: you get the carrier only. The bladder is a separate purchase — read the next line before you make it.
  • Check bladder length first: the pack stands 380 mm tall outside, so the bay cannot take a bladder longer than that. The only size stated for our own replacement hydration bladder is 430 x 193 mm — 50 mm longer than this pack — so we cannot promise it fits and we are not going to pretend. A short, wide bladder under about 350 mm long is the safe shape.
  • Not a stand-alone backpack: there are no shoulder straps. If you are not wearing MOLLE webbing, you want our hydration day pack with the bladder included instead.
  • Not a cargo pack: the outside dimensions multiply out to roughly 10 litres total, and most of that is the bladder bay. Two pockets of kit, not a day's gear. The supplier states no capacity figure.
  • Water resistant, not waterproof: the supplier states water-repellent fabric only. No rating is stated, the zips are not sealed, and it will not keep contents dry in a river crossing.
  • It will not chill your water: no insulation is stated anywhere in the supplier's specification. Fill cold and drink early — do not expect cold water in the afternoon.

Q & A

Does it come with a water bladder?

No. It is the carrier only. If you buy our replacement hydration bladder, check the Limits tab first — its stated length runs longer than this pack, and buyers of that bladder keep measuring the usable capacity under the label, so size up whatever you choose.

How big a bladder does the bay take?

The supplier says up to 3 litres, and that means a short, wide 3 litre format. The pack is 380 mm tall outside, so anything longer than about 350 mm is going to fight the flap. Measure the bladder before you order it — length is the number that matters, not litres.

Will it mount on my vest or carrier?

If the back of it carries PALS webbing — the horizontal rows of stitched channels — yes. The supplier names JPC, SPC and 6094 style plate carriers, and the same six straps take it onto a MOLLE vest or the face of a bigger pack.

Can I wear it on its own?

No — it has no shoulder straps of its own. It is a mounted panel, not a backpack. For a stand-alone option, our hydration day pack ships with a 3 litre bladder included.

Where does the drink tube come out?

Either top corner — there is a port each side, so left- and right-shoulder routing both work, and the internal tab hangs the bladder so it does not slump as it empties.
