Swap the Sweaty Rubber Strap for Steel.
A rubber or silicone strap is fine until a hot week turns it into a sweat trap, or the one that came with the watch splits at the keeper. Then you are either living with it or hunting for a strap that actually fits.
This is a Milanese mesh band in stainless steel for watches with 20 mm or 22 mm lugs. It closes with a stainless steel folding clasp instead of a tang buckle, and the pack comes with a small spring-bar tool and three spring bars, so you have what you need to fit it.
Straight up: it only fits watches with standard spring bars at 20 mm or 22 mm. It will not fit an Apple Watch or a Garmin QuickFit watch. The seller also does not state the band length or how it adjusts, so read the Limits before you order.
What it Does
- Replaces a Worn Strap: a steel mesh band for any watch with 20 mm or 22 mm lugs and standard spring bars.
- Comes Ready to Fit: the pack includes a spring-bar tool and three spring bars.
- Folding Clasp: a stainless steel clasp that folds shut over the mesh, rather than a pin through a hole.
- Four Finishes: black, silver, gold or rose gold, depending on the option.
Key Features
- Milanese Mesh: a fine woven steel mesh, listed by the seller as stainless steel.
- Stainless Steel Clasp: folding clasp, as stated by the seller.
- Quick Release: listed by the seller as a quick-release band.
- In the Pack: one strap, one tool and three spring bars. The watch is not included.
- Two Widths: 20 mm or 22 mm. Pick the one that matches your watch exactly.
- Delivery: Free Standard Delivery, 5 to 10 working days from the day you order. Allow 1–2 days for fulfilment. Regional and remote addresses can take longer.
Limits
It will Not Fit Apple Watch or Garmin QuickFit.
Both use their own connectors instead of standard spring bars. Samsung Galaxy watches and most standard analogue and smart watches use 20 mm or 22 mm spring bars, but not all of them, so measure yours before you order rather than going by the brand name.
Length & Adjustment are Not Stated.
The seller lists the band length as "Other" and does not explain how the length is set. We are not going to guess. If you have a very small or very large wrist, this may not be the band for you.
The Coloured Finishes are Not Explained.
The seller does not say how the black, gold and rose-gold colours are applied, so we cannot tell you how they will hold up to scratches and wear.
16 mm & 18 mm are Not Offered Here.
The supplier makes this band in smaller widths too, but we only list 20 mm and 22 mm.
Q & A
How do I Measure my Lug Width?
Measure the gap between the two lugs on your watch, where the strap and its spring bar meet the case, in millimetres. That gap has to match the band exactly, 20 mm or 22 mm, or the spring bars will not seat properly. If your old strap has a number stamped on the back near the watch end (a "20" or "22"), that is the same figure.
Will it Fit my Apple Watch or my Garmin?
No. Apple Watch straps slide into a slot in the case rather than sitting on spring bars, so a spring-bar band will not go on. It will not fit Garmin QuickFit either, which uses its own locking connector. Garmin watches that take standard spring bars will fit if the lug width is 20 mm or 22 mm.
What is the Tool for?
It is a spring-bar tool. The forked end pushes the spring bar in so you can get it in and out of the lug holes. Three spring bars come in the pack as well, so a lost one is not the end of it.
Can I Get it Wet?
The seller gives no water figure for the band. It is a steel strap, so rain and sweat are no drama, but whether you can swim depends on your watch, not the band. Rinse it in fresh water after salt water or sand.
Which Width do I Pick if my Watch is 21 mm?
Neither. The band has to match the lug gap exactly. Measure again with a ruler that reads millimetres. If it really is 21 mm, this is the wrong band.
