The watch you wear when the good one stays home.
Nobody wears a decent watch on site. It gets belted against handrails, dunked in the wash bay and packed with dust, so it ends up living in the glovebox — and you end up checking your phone with gloves on, in the rain, halfway up a ladder.
This is the knockabout that saves the good one. A big analogue dial and a digital readout run at the same time, so you get the time at a glance plus a stopwatch, an alarm, the day and the date without digging anything out of a pocket.
It is honest about what it is: a cheap, chunky sports watch with a hard-wearing look. The dial is marked WR 50M, and the supplier's own guidance stops at washing your hands, washing your face and a cold bath. Read the Limits tab before you go anywhere near water with it.
What It Does
- Two displays at once: analogue hands over a digital LCD, with the dial marked DUAL TIME — glance for the time, look closer for the numbers.
- Stopwatch with lap and split: the dial carries CHRONO, LAP and SPL segments, driven by the START and RESET pushers on the right-hand side.
- Alarm and hourly signal: ALM, ALARM and SIG segments are printed on the dial alongside the digital windows.
- Day and date: separate WEEK and DATE windows in the digital readout, so you are not counting back from Monday.
- Backlight on demand: the LIGHT pusher lights the display — the supplier describes it as a cold light effect.
- 12 or 24 hour: the supplier's own function panel states the display switches to a 24-hour system.
Key Features
- SANDA branded: SANDA on the dial and SPORT WATCH moulded into the strap keeper above the case.
- Six colourways: Black, Silver Black, Black Blue, Black Gold, Army Green and White — the six on the supplier's colour chart match the six you can order.
- 24-hour scale: printed around the chapter ring from 13 through to 24, outside the normal hour markers.
- Four pushers and a crown: LIGHT and MODE on the left, START and RESET on the right, with a knurled crown between them.
- Guarded case: raised shoulders stand proud of every pusher and the crown, so the controls are not the first thing to hit a handrail.
- Vented strap: perforations right through the strap, with a pin buckle and a keeper loop.
- Luminous treatment: the supplier's artwork shows the hands, hour markers and buttons glowing once the light drops.
- Water resistance marking: WR 50M is printed on the dial itself, under the DUAL TIME legend — what that does and does not permit is in the Limits tab.
Limits
It is not a dive watch, and we are not calling it a swimming watch either.
The dial is marked WR 50M. That figure comes from a static pressure test in a factory — it is not a depth you can take the watch to, and a watch marked 50M is not rated to be worn 50 metres down. The supplier's own artwork leads with a big 50 metre headline claim, and then ticks exactly three uses underneath it: washing your hands, washing your face, and a cold bath. Swimming is not on that list. Diving and snorkelling are a long way off it.
Note that the tick is for a cold bath. Hot showers, spas and steam are not on the supplier's list either. Do not press the pushers or move the crown while the watch is wet, and do not leave it sitting in salt water.
It is not military anything.
There is no defence issue, no MIL-STD, no armed-forces approval and no standard of any kind printed on this watch. The supplier's own artwork calls it a fashion and sports watch. It is styled to look hard-wearing, and that is where it ends.
No certificate has been sighted.
No CE mark, no certificate and no test report appears on the watch, the strap or any of the supplier's artwork, so this listing makes no certification claim at all.
It is not a smart watch.
No Bluetooth, no phone app, no notifications, no GPS, no heart rate and no step counting. It tells the time, runs a stopwatch and sounds an alarm.
Shock resistance is not stated.
No shock rating or marking appears on the watch or the artwork, so we make no shock-resistance claim for it.
The dimensions are not published.
The supplier gives no case diameter, no case thickness, no lug width, no strap length and no weight. We are not going to make them up, so we cannot tell you whether it will sit under a work cuff or suit a smaller wrist. What the photographs plainly show is a large, deep case. Every unknown is written into the Specs tab as unspecified rather than filled in with a guess.
Q & A
Can I swim in it?
We are not going to tell you that you can. The dial says WR 50M, but the supplier's own guidance covers hand washing, face washing and a cold bath and stops there. For laps, the surf or anything under the surface you want a watch with a stated 10 bar or higher rating and a screw-down crown — this is not that watch, and picking the right one matters more than saving a few dollars.
Will it fit my wrist?
We cannot say. The supplier publishes no case diameter, no thickness and no strap length, so any figure we printed would be a guess. What the photographs do show is a large, deep case with guarded pushers. It is not a slim watch and it will not disappear under a tight cuff.
Is it a real military watch?
No. There is no defence issue, no MIL-STD and no standard printed on it anywhere. The look is the look, and that is all we are selling you.
What battery does it take, and how long does it last?
Neither is specified by the supplier. Any watch battery counter can read the cell type off the caseback and swap it over in a few minutes, so it is not something you need to know before it arrives.
Does the digital side show a second time zone?
The dial is marked DUAL TIME, which on this watch means the analogue hands and the digital readout run together. Whether the digital side can be set independently to a second time zone is not stated by the supplier, so we are not claiming it.
How long will it take to arrive?
Allow 10 to 14 days from the day you place the order, and up to three weeks to be safe. Regional and remote addresses take longer again. Shipping is free to Australia and New Zealand.
