A big, plain digital face you can read at a glance.

Your hands are full, they are wet, or they are in gloves — and the time lives in your pocket. Digging a phone out means putting something down, and once it is out the screen washes out in bright sun and ignores a gloved fingertip anyway. Half the time you put it away without actually reading it.

This is the opposite of that. A 48 mm digital face with segment digits big enough to read at arm's length, a backlight on its own pusher, and a day, date, alarm and stopwatch reached through four buttons you can find without looking. It does not pair, it does not charge and it does not need your phone.

Be clear on the water side before you buy, because the marketing artwork oversells it. The dial is marked WR 30M and the supplier rates it at 30 m, but the conditions the supplier actually lists are hand washing, face washing, rain and a cold water bath. That is a splash-and-rain rating. It is not a dive watch, it is not a swimming watch, and we are not going to call it waterproof.

What It Does

Limits

It is not a swimming or diving watch. The rating is WR 30M, and the only conditions the supplier lists against it are hand washing, face washing, rain and a cold water bath. Do not swim, surf, snorkel or dive in it. A 30 m marking is a pressure rating from a static test, not a depth you may take it to — and a moving arm through water loads the seals far harder than that test does.

Keep it out of hot water. The supplier's own wording says a cold water bath. Hot showers, spas, saunas and steam are what finish off a seal of this class, and none of them are covered.

Do not work the pushers while it is wet. Pressing a button underwater or under a running tap drives water past the seal it depends on.

It is not a smart watch. The store category says otherwise and the category is wrong. There is no Bluetooth, no app, no pairing, no notifications, no heart rate, no step count and no satellite positioning. It tells the time and runs a stopwatch.

No standard is claimed or printed. No certificate was supplied and no water-resistance standard — ISO 22810 or any other — is printed on the watch or stated by the supplier. The 30 m figure is the supplier's own number, published here as a rating, not as an independently tested one.

Some specifications are simply not published. The glass material, the battery type, the expected battery life, the lug-to-lug span and any shock rating are all absent from the supplier's parameter panel, so they are marked unspecified in the table rather than guessed at.

It is a large watch. At 48 mm across and 15.5 mm thick it will look and feel big on a slim wrist, and it will catch on a tight cuff.

Q & A

Can I wear it swimming or in the surf?

No. The supplier rates it for hand washing, face washing, rain and a cold water bath, and nothing beyond that. If you want a watch for swimming you need one rated 5 bar or better, and for diving 10 bar or better — this is neither.

Can I keep it on in the shower?

We would not. The supplier specifically says cold water, and a shower is hot and full of steam. Heat expands the case and thins the seal grease, which is how watches at this rating usually let go.

Is it a smart watch — will it track my steps or connect to my phone?

No to both. It is a straightforward digital watch with a battery, a display and four buttons. Nothing pairs, nothing syncs, and there is no app.

Is the case stainless steel?

No. The supplier's parameter panel states the case is alloy. The bezel and pushers are finished to look like steel, but alloy is what is stated, and that is what we publish.

Are the small dials real, or just for show?

They are real. The face is a single LCD, and the smaller windows are live segments — day of week, date, and the alarm and chime indicators. There are no dummy subdials on this watch.

Will it fit a smaller wrist?

The strap is 240 mm long and 24 mm wide, which suits most adult wrists, but the supplier publishes no minimum or maximum circumference. The bigger question is the 48 mm case — measure across your wrist and picture that footprint before choosing.
