Square GPS Smartwatch with 2.01 in (51 mm) Screen, Torch & Compass

Stop Squinting at a Tiny Screen on the Track.

Most smartwatches have a round face the size of a twenty-cent piece. Fine at the desk. Not so fine halfway up a fire trail with sunnies on and the sun behind you, trying to read a heart rate, a bearing or who is ringing. So the phone comes out of the pocket, and the phone is the battery you were trying to save.

This watch has a square 2.01 in (51 mm) screen, 240 x 296 pixels, in a 45 x 51.5 mm case. The layout is a rectangle like a small phone, not a dial, so the numbers are big and there is room for a map line, a compass and the time on one screen. The seller states built-in GPS for logging walks and rides, and there is a compass, an LED torch on the side button and Bluetooth calling through your phone. The battery is 540 mAh, and the seller quotes 5 to 7 days of use between charges.

Two things straight up. It is water resistant for rain, sweat and washing your hands. It is not a swimming or diving watch, whatever some of the seller's pictures show. And the GPS is the seller's claim: we have put exactly what they state under Specs, and what they don't, under Limits.

What it Does

• Big Square Screen: 2.01 in (51 mm) touch display at 240 x 296, square rather than round, so a full line of figures fits across it.
• GPS for Walks & Rides: the seller states built-in GPS using GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS and Galileo, for distance and route on the outdoor sport modes.
• Compass on your Wrist: a compass screen for a quick bearing without unfolding the map.
• Torch on the Side: an LED torch on the LIGHT button. Drop the head torch in the dark at camp and the one on your wrist is still there to find it.
• Calls Through your Phone: answer and dial over Bluetooth 5.3 with the watch's own speaker and microphone, plus contacts, call log and a keypad.
• SOS to your Contacts: hold the POWER button for 3 seconds and the watch rings a saved emergency contact through your paired phone.
• Activity Tracking: steps, distance, calories, sleep and over 100 sport modes, logged to the GloryFitPro app.
• Wellness Readings: heart rate, blood oxygen and a stress figure as reference readings for fitness, not medical readings.
• Everyday Tools: alarm, stopwatch, timer, world clock, weather from the phone, music control, camera shutter, calculator, find-my-phone, voice assistant through the phone, breathing exercise and cycle calendar.

Key Features

• Square Alloy Case: zinc alloy with two-colour moulded plastic, 45 mm wide, 51.5 mm tall and 13.5 mm thick.
• Hardlex Window: the screen sits behind Hardlex glass, as listed by the seller.
• 22 mm Strap: 260 mm long overall; the seller's drawing marks a 235 mm wrist.
• Strap Choices: black, camouflage, orange & black, orange, blue & black or navy blue silicone; black or brown leather; black mesh; or black steel link.
• Orange Trim Options: the options marked Orange Trim have orange lettering on the case and an orange surround on the torch button. The rest of the watch is the same.
• Magnetic Charging: a magnetic lead clips to two pins on the back; the seller states about 2 hours to charge.
• Bluetooth 5.3: pairs with Android 5.0 or later and iOS 9.0 or later through the GloryFitPro app.
• 540 mAh Battery: the seller states 5 to 7 days in use and 12 to 15 days on standby.
• Delivery: Free Standard Delivery, 5 to 10 working days from the day you order. Allow 1–2 days for fulfilment. Regional and remote addresses can take longer.

Limits

It is Not a Swimming or Diving Watch.

The seller rates it IP68, and 3ATM also appears in their attribute list. Both of those mean rain, sweat, a splash at the trough and washing your hands. Some of the seller's pictures show a scuba diver and swimming icons, and their attribute list carries swimming modes and a diving line. We are not standing behind any of that. Do not swim in it, do not shower in it, and do not take it diving. It is not a dive computer and has no depth rating we will put our name to. Leather and mesh straps in particular will not thank you for a soaking.

We Have Not Tested the GPS Ourselves.

The seller states built-in GPS using GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS and Galileo, and the case has a button marked GPS. Their parameter panel names the main chip and the heart-rate chip but does not name a separate satellite receiver, and one of their pictures claims a dual-band, six-system receiver that does not match the attribute list. So test it on a walk near home, with the phone left behind, before you rely on it somewhere that matters. It is a fitness watch with GPS, not a handheld GPS unit, and the seller does not list offline topographic maps.

The SOS Rings your Phone Contacts, Not a Rescue Service.

The SOS feature calls a contact you have saved, through your phone, over Bluetooth. The seller's own note says it needs the Bluetooth connection and emergency contacts set up. No phone, no phone signal, no SOS. There is no satellite messaging and no beacon in it. If you head out of mobile coverage, carry a registered personal locator beacon.

The Health Numbers are Reference Readings.

Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and the stress figure come from a wrist sensor and an algorithm. They are fine for watching a trend against your own baseline and poor as an absolute figure, especially when you are moving or cold. The seller's own artwork says the watch is not a medical device and the readings are not for diagnosis. If something feels wrong, ring a doctor, not your wrist.

It Has No Mobile Network of its Own.

There is no SIM slot. Calls, messages, weather and the SOS all go through your paired phone, so the phone has to be on you, charged and within Bluetooth range.

Q & A

Is the Screen Really Square?

Yes. It is a 2.01 in (51 mm) square screen at 240 x 296 pixels, in a 45 x 51.5 mm case. The seller's title and pictures call it AMOLED and their attribute list calls it IPS, so we have printed both under Specs.

Does it Need my Phone for the GPS?

The seller says no: the GPS is built in, so an outdoor walk or ride should log with the phone left in the ute. Read the GPS note under Limits first, and give it a test near home.

How Long does the Battery Last?

The seller states 5 to 7 days in use and 12 to 15 days on standby, from a 540 mAh battery. They give no figure with GPS running, and satellite tracking uses power faster than ordinary use, so expect less on a day of logged walking. It charges from a magnetic lead in about 2 hours.

Can I Take Calls on it?

Yes, through your phone over Bluetooth. The watch has its own speaker and microphone, a keypad, contacts and a call log. There is no SIM, so it does nothing on its own away from the phone.

Which Phones does it Work with?

Android 5.0 or later and iOS 9.0 or later, over Bluetooth 5.3, using the GloryFitPro app. Notifications need the app left running with permission to read them.

What is the Difference with the Orange Trim Options?

On the Orange Trim options, the lettering on the case and the surround of the torch button are orange. On the others, the lettering is dark grey and the surround is silver, except Orange and Orange & Black, which also have the orange trim. The seller's pictures show each pair with a different watch face, but faces can be changed, so pick on the look of the case and strap.

Does a Spare Strap Come with it?

The seller's option pictures show a spare black silicone strap with every option except the two plain black silicone ones (Black, and Black, Orange Trim). The seller does not say so in writing, so treat it as likely rather than promised.

Will a Standard 22 mm Strap Fit?

The strap is 22 mm wide. The seller does not say whether the strap pins are quick-release, so check the pins before you buy a replacement band.
