Real GPS Without the Brick on your Wrist.

Most outdoor GPS watches are built like a house brick. They slide round a slim wrist, catch on every sleeve and dig in when you sleep, so the watch ends up in the drawer. A watch in the drawer logs nothing: no track of the walk, no record of the ride, no idea how far you actually went.

The Mibro GS Active puts a satellite receiver in a watch body that weighs 33.5 g without its strap, or 41 g on the soft woven strap that comes in the box. The 1.3 in (33 mm) AMOLED screen is rated by Mibro at 1000 nits, bright enough to read in full sun, and Mibro quotes up to 20 days between charges in everyday use. It carries a 5ATM water rating, so laps in the pool and a day in the rain are covered.

One thing straight up. Light is not the same as small. The face is 47 mm across and 11.8 mm thick, which is a big round face on any wrist. What you save is weight, not size. If you want a watch that looks small, this isn't it; if you want one you forget you are wearing, it is worth a look.

What it Does
  • Tracks the Walk on its Own: a single-frequency GNSS chip inside the watch picks up GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS satellites and records your route, pace and distance.
  • Readable on a Bright Day: 1.3 in (33 mm) AMOLED rated at 1000 nits peak brightness, 277 PPI, 60 fps refresh.
  • Goes Weeks Between Charges: 400 mAh battery, quoted by Mibro at 20 days in daily use, 50+ days on standby and 15 hours with GPS running.
  • Logs the Session: 150 sports modes, from walking, hiking and cycling to pool swimming, with Mibro's training estimates of VO2 Max, recovery time, training load and training effect after a workout.
  • Wellness Readings: heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep (including REM and naps) and stress, shown as reference figures for fitness, not medical readings.
  • Weather on your Wrist: forecast, air quality, UV index, sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moon phase, and tides, from Mibro's weather service.
  • Phone Alerts: call, SMS and app notifications from the paired phone, plus music control, find-my-phone and a remote photo trigger.
  • Everyday Tools: compass, altimeter, alarm, stopwatch, timer, world clock, calculator, calendar, flashlight, sedentary reminders and a women's health section.
Key Features
  • Genuine Mibro: the maker's own GS Active model, set up through Mibro's Mibro Fit app.
  • Light Body: 33.5 g without a strap; 41 g on the woven strap and 51.5 g on the silicone one, by Mibro's figures.
  • Two Straps in the Box: a silicone strap with pin buckle fitted, plus a soft double-sided woven nylon strap. Both are 22 mm and detachable.
  • Four Colours: Black, Grey, White and Gold. The Gold option comes on an orange silicone strap in the maker's pictures.
  • 10-Axis Motion Sensing: accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor and barometer for step counting, orientation, compass and altitude.
  • 5ATM Water Rating: Mibro's own laboratory figure. Pool swimming yes; deep diving and hot springs, Mibro says no.
  • Magnetic Charging: a magnetic charging port and USB lead, so there is no open socket on the case.
  • Bluetooth 5.3: pairs with Android 5.0 or later and iOS phones through the Mibro Fit app.
  • Delivery: Free Standard Delivery, 5 to 10 working days from the day you order. Allow 1–2 days for fulfilment. Regional and remote addresses can take longer.

Limits

It is Not a Dive Watch.

The 5ATM rating is Mibro's own laboratory figure, and Mibro itself warns the real-world result can vary with temperature, humidity and pressure changes. Mibro's words are plain: it is prohibited to wear the watch for deep diving or hot spring soaking. Treat 5ATM as pool laps and surface swimming at most. No hot showers, spas or saunas, and don't press the buttons under water, because Mibro doesn't say they are rated for it. Mibro's marketing also talks up surfing, and its sports-mode list includes diving, snorkelling and hot springs. We go by Mibro's own warning, not its mode list: keep it out of the surf, off the reef and out of the hot pool.

It is Not a Medical Device.

Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and stress are reference readings for fitness and wellness. Mibro states the measurements are not intended for medical use, including self-diagnosis or consultation with a doctor. The exercise heart-rate reminder is a training alert, not a medical warning. If something feels wrong, ring a doctor, not your wrist.

It is Not a Small Watch to Look at.

Light, yes. Small, no. The case is 47 mm across and 11.8 mm thick. Mibro gives no wrist-size range for either strap, only the unfolded lengths (268 mm silicone, 213 mm ± 5 mm woven). If your wrist is very slim, measure a watch you already own against 47 mm before you order.

It will Not Navigate you Home.

The watch records your track and shows distance, pace and position data. Mibro does not list on-screen maps, route loading or a track-back feature, so it is a logger, not a navigator. The receiver is single-frequency; single-frequency GPS generally loses accuracy in steep gullies, under thick canopy and between tall buildings. There is no SOS, no satellite messaging and no mobile network in it. Nobody can find you through this watch.

It is Not Rated Below Freezing.

Mibro's operating range is 0 °C to 45 °C. A frosty morning on the tops or a day in the snow is outside the maker's range, and batteries in the cold run down faster.

It will Not Take Calls.

Call alerts, yes. Mibro lists no speaker, no microphone and no Bluetooth calling, so treat it as a notifier and answer on the phone.

Q & A

Will it Suit a Smaller Wrist?

On weight, yes: 41 g on the woven strap is light for a GPS watch. On size, think about it first: the face is 47 mm across, so it will sit wide on a slim wrist. The soft woven strap in the box is the lighter, more comfortable option; Mibro gives its unfolded length as 213 mm ± 5 mm but no minimum wrist size.

Does it Need my Phone for GPS?

The GNSS chip is in the watch, so it gets its own satellite fix. You need the Mibro Fit app on your phone to set it up, to get weather and notifications, and to view and keep your recorded tracks. Mibro's 15-hour GPS figure was measured with the phone connected.

Can I Swim in it?

Pool laps and surface swimming, yes, on Mibro's 5ATM rating; it recognises stroke and gives SWOLF in the pool. No diving, no snorkelling, no hot water, and no pressing buttons under water. See Limits.

How Long does the Battery Really Last?

Mibro's 20 days is a set test: phone app connected, 24-hour heart rate on, sleep monitoring on, 60 minutes of exercise a week, 100 messages and 6 calls a day, 100 wrist-raises and 3 alarms a day. The 50+ days is the watch on but not connected to the app. The 15 hours is continuous GPS in an outdoor sports mode. Heavy GPS use, bright screen settings and cold weather will bring all three down.

Which Phones does it Work with?

Android 5.0 or later and iOS phones, over Bluetooth 5.3, through the Mibro Fit app. Mibro's spec panel says iOS 10.0 or later; its current general watch manual says iOS 13.0 or later, so plan on iOS 13 or newer to be safe.

What Comes in the Box?

The watch with its silicone strap fitted, a woven nylon strap, a user manual and a magnetic charging lead. No wall plug.

Which Colour Comes on Which Strap?

In Mibro's pictures, Black, Grey and White come on a silicone strap in the same colour as the case. Gold has a gold-tone bezel on a light case with an orange silicone strap. The woven strap in the box is dark grey and orange.
