A daypack is fine right up until you actually need something out of it. Then it comes off your shoulders, goes on the ground or the tray of the ute, and you stand there digging through it. Do that six times in a day and sooner or later you walk off and leave it sitting on a rock, and it is never the empty one you leave behind.

A sling bag never comes off. Swing it round to your chest, open the pocket you want, take what you need and push it back behind your shoulder. Phone, wallet, keys, a multitool, a torch, a spare battery, a feed — it all sits in 200 x 120 x 280 mm of bag that stays attached to you the whole time.

It is a one-shoulder bag, so treat it as one. This is your day kit, not your water and lunch for three. Loaded to that, it sits flat, it stays out of your road, and the mesh back panel means your shirt is not soaked through by smoko.

What It Does

• Stays on your body: one padded strap over the shoulder, so getting into the bag never means putting it down.
• Swings front to back: ride it on your chest while you are working out of it, then push it round behind your shoulder to walk.
• Splits your kit three ways: a main compartment, a middle pocket and a flat front zip pocket, so the small stuff is not swimming round the bottom.
• Takes MOLLE pouches: PALS ladder webbing runs across the front pocket face and down both side panels, so you can hang a torch pouch, a knife pouch or a first aid pouch off it.
• Carries a patch: a hook-and-loop panel sits above the front pocket for a name tape, a blood group patch or whatever you run.
• Keeps a pen reachable: a zipped pocket on the shoulder strap itself, sized for a pen, a key or a bit of cash.

Key Features

• 600D Oxford shell: the supplier's own spec panel states 600D Oxford fabric. The fibre it is woven from is not stated.
• 200 x 120 x 280 mm: measured off the supplier's dimension drawing — wide, deep, then tall.
• Three zipped compartments: plus a slip pocket inside the main compartment and a zipped pocket on the strap.
• PALS webbing three sides: front pocket face and both side panels. The back panel is padded mesh instead, because that side lives against your ribs.
• Bungee cord lacing: laced across the upper front pocket to trap a rolled jacket, a cap or a pair of gloves under it.
• Padded mesh back panel: raised mesh against your body rather than flat fabric, which is what keeps the sweat down.
• Side-release buckle: plastic quick-release on the strap plus a ladder-lock slider to set the length.
• Top grab handle: stitched into the top panel, so you can pull it off a seat or a hook one-handed.
• D-rings and press studs: D-rings at the shoulder and at the base for a clip-on, and press studs on the base and back panel.
• Seven colourways: Python black, Python khaki, Jungle digital, Jungle camouflage, ACU, Army green and plain black.

Limits

Where this bag stops. None of this is guesswork — it is what the supplier does not publish, and what a one-strap bag physically will not do.

• No load rating: the supplier publishes no weight limit for the bag, the strap or the D-rings. Do not treat any part of it as rated to hold or lift anything, and never clip it to a person or a life-safety system.
• No water rating: no waterproof or water resistant rating is published, and none is printed on the bag. Assume the contents get wet in solid rain. If something must stay dry, bag it separately.
• One shoulder, not two: the whole load sits on one side. It is the wrong bag for a long carry with weight in it — that is what a two-strap pack is for.
• It is a small bag: 200 x 120 x 280 mm. A full-size laptop will not go in it, and neither will a day's water for a hot walk.
• Styling, not service: the camouflage patterns and the webbing are how it is built and how it looks. It is not issued kit, it carries no service approval, and we are not going to dress it up as one.
• Bag and strap only: the pouches, binoculars and gear shown in some of the supplier's photographs are not included and are not sold with it.
• No capacity figure: the supplier states no volume in litres and no weight for the empty bag. We are not going to make either of them up — the outside dimensions above are what we can actually stand behind.

Q & A

Will MOLLE pouches actually attach to it?

Yes. PALS ladder webbing runs horizontally across the face of the front pocket and down both side panels, stitched into vertical bar tacks — that is the grid a standard MOLLE pouch weaves through. The back panel is the exception: it is padded breathable mesh with the strap fixation, a press stud and a D-ring, and it carries no webbing, because that face sits against your body.

How much does it hold?

The bag is 200 mm wide, 120 mm deep and 280 mm tall on the outside, split into a main compartment, a middle pocket, a front zip pocket, an internal slip pocket and a small zipped pocket on the strap. The supplier does not publish a capacity in litres, so we cannot give you one.

Is it waterproof?

No rating is published, so we will not call it either waterproof or water resistant. The shell is 600D Oxford with standard coil zips and no storm flaps over them. Treat it as a bag that will shrug off a light shower and let water in during a real one.

Can I wear it on either shoulder?

It is worn across the chest on a single strap, and it can also be slung on one shoulder to sit on your back. The supplier does not state whether the strap can be swapped over to the other side, so we are not going to claim it can.

What actually comes in the box?

The bag and its shoulder strap. Nothing else. Several of the supplier's photographs show it loaded with binoculars and pouches to show the fit — none of that is included.

How long does delivery take?
