You are up the ladder with the drill in one hand and a bracket in the other. A screw rolls off the end of your finger, hits the slab, bounces once and is gone into the gravel. Now it is back down the ladder, across the yard, into the toolbox and up again — for a five-cent screw.

Do that four times in a shift and you have lost half an hour. Do it on a boat and the screw is in the bilge. Do it under a bonnet and it lands behind the engine mount, where it sits until the next service and rattles at you the whole way home.

This is a fabric band with magnets sewn into it. It straps around your wrist, or threads onto your belt, and steel fasteners stick to the outside where you can see them and pick them off one-handed. Nothing to charge, nothing to switch on, nothing to break.

It holds steel. It will not hold stainless, brass or aluminium, and that matters more than it sounds — read Limits before you buy it for a boat.

What It Does

Limits

It only holds steel. Magnets do nothing to stainless, brass, aluminium or copper. The 304 and 316 stainless used for marine and outdoor fasteners is barely magnetic at all, so a stainless deck screw will slide straight off. If your work is stainless, this band will hold your drill bits and nothing else you are fitting.

It does nothing to your body. Magnetic wristbands get sold as therapy. This one is a parts holder. It will not improve circulation, ease arthritis, relieve pain or affect your health in any direction, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

It is not a wrist support. There is no compression, no splint and no stay in it. If you want your wrist braced, buy a brace.

Magnets and medical implants do not mix. Keep it away from pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, insulin pumps and hearing aids, and speak to the clinic that fitted yours before wearing anything magnetic. The same care goes for hotel key cards, magnetic-stripe cards, mechanical watches and a vehicle or boat compass.

It is not protective equipment. No cut, impact, electrical or flame rating is printed on it and no standard is marked. Do not treat it as a glove, a guard or a wrist protector, and keep it off welding and grinding work — it is synthetic fabric with no flame rating stated, and the magnets will collect hot swarf.

It will not hold a hammer. No magnet grade or pull figure is stated by the supplier, so treat it as good for screws, nails, washers, bits and small sockets. Swing your arm hard with something heavy on it and it will come off.

It collects swarf. Work near a grinder or a drill press and the panel picks up steel filings and dust that then have to be brushed out. That is the magnet doing its job, not a fault.

No water rating is stated. The supplier gives no figure, so treat it as fabric gear that can get rained on and dried out, not gear you soak or leave wet.

Q & A

Will it hold stainless steel screws?

Mostly no, and this is the question that decides whether it suits you. The 304 and 316 stainless used in marine, coastal and food-grade work is austenitic, which means it is close to non-magnetic. Those screws will slide off. Ordinary steel screws, bugle screws, roofing screws, nails, nuts, washers, clips and drill bits all stick fine.

How do I know it will fit my wrist?

Flat, the band measures 370 mm end to end and 90 mm across, and the hook-and-loop patch runs 145 mm, so it closes anywhere along that run rather than at set sizes. Run a tape around your wrist and compare. The supplier's artwork prints a maximum wrist size that is larger than the band itself, so that figure is wrong and we are not repeating it.

How strong are the magnets?

The supplier states 15 magnets and states no grade and no pull figure, so we are not publishing one. Anyone quoting you a gauss number or an N-grade on a band like this has copied it off another listing. Judge it as a screw and bit holder, which is what it is built for.

I have a pacemaker or another implanted device. Can I wear it?

No. Strong magnets do not belong near implanted cardiac devices, pumps or hearing aids. Talk to the clinic that fitted yours before you go near anything magnetic. This is a genuine safety note about the magnets, not a comment on the fabric.

Is this one band or a pair?

One band. The main photo shows the same wristband twice, side by side — that is how the supplier laid the image out, not a two-pack.

How long does delivery take?
