A High Boot That doesn't Weigh a Tonne.

A full leather high boot is good gear until about lunchtime. By then it feels like you're dragging two bricks around, so the next day you pull on the runners instead — and the runners are what you've got on when you step off a tailgate onto a rock, or walk the fence line and come home with socks full of grass seed.

This boot sits in the middle. It laces up past the ankle to the lower calf, with a PU upper, open mesh panels and a foam EVA sole instead of heavy leather and rubber. It comes in sand or black, with a tactical-style look that sits fine with work pants or jeans.

Be clear on what it is: a light, casual high boot. It is not safety footwear — there is no protective toe cap in it — and the supplier lists it as not waterproof.

Order by Foot Length: the numbers on the label are the supplier's Chinese sizes, not Australian sizes. Measure your foot in millimetres and read it off the size chart under Specs.

What it Does
  • Easier on Long Days: a foam sole and mesh panels in place of full leather and a rubber sole. The seller calls it lightweight; no boot weight has been published, so we won't quote one.
  • Covers the Ankle: the shaft comes up above the ankle to the lower calf, so the ankle isn't bare when you step down off the ute or through scrub you can't see the bottom of.
  • Keeps the Rubbish Out: laced up close, a tall shaft stops grass seed, gravel and burrs going down the inside of the boot.
  • Lets the Heat Out: mesh panels across the toe, sides and collar let air through on a hot day — and let water in on a wet one.
  • Two Colours: sand for dusty country, black for town and anywhere you want the dirt to show less.
Key Features
  • High Lace-Up Shaft: the supplier lists the height as mid-calf — above the ankle, below the knee.
  • PU Upper & Mesh Panels: the supplier lists the upper and the shaft as PU; the photographs show mesh panels across the toe, sides and collar.
  • EVA Outsole: a foam sole with a deep chevron lug tread that wraps up over the toe and heel.
  • Low Heel: listed as 1 to 3 cm (10 to 30 mm).
  • PU Insole: as listed. No lining is listed.
  • Lace Hooks Up Top: the photographs show lace hooks on the upper shaft and eyelets lower down, so you can set the tension at the ankle and the top separately.
  • Round Toe: listed as a round toe with no metal toe cap.
  • Two Colours: Sand and Black.
  • Ten Sizes: label 39 to 48, for foot lengths of 245 to 290 mm on the supplier's chart.

Limits

What These Boots will Not Do
  • Not Safety Footwear: the supplier lists no metal toe cap, and there is no composite cap and no safety certification. Some seller pictures talk about an "anti-collision" toe — that is the moulded sole wrapping over the toe, not a protective cap. These will not get you through a site gate that requires safety boots.
  • Not Waterproof: the supplier lists it as not waterproof, and the mesh panels let water straight in. Dewy grass is fine. A creek crossing means wet feet.
  • EVA Sole, Not Rubber: the sole is listed as EVA, which is a foam. As a rule EVA is lighter and softer than rubber, but it wears down faster and grips less on wet rock and smooth, wet surfaces.
  • Label Sizes are Not Australian Sizes: the supplier says plainly its sizes are not standard European or US sizes either. Your usual number means nothing here — measure your foot and use the chart under Specs.
  • No Weight or Shaft Height Given: the supplier hasn't published either. We are not going to guess.
  • No Shoe Box: the supplier says orders usually arrive without a shoe box.

Q & A

I Wear a 9 in Australia. What Size do I Order?
Don't go by the number. As a general guide Australian men's sizes follow the UK scale, but the supplier's chart has no Australian or UK column, so we won't convert it for you. Stand with your heel against a wall, measure to the end of your longest toe in millimetres, and pick the row in the chart under Specs. If you fall between two rows, or your feet are wide or thick, go up one size — the supplier says the same.

What is the US Column in the Chart?
Those are the supplier's own US figures, printed on its chart. The supplier also says its sizes are not standard European or US sizes, so treat the US column as a rough guide only. The foot length in millimetres is the number that counts.

Is There a Protective Cap in the Toe?
No. The supplier lists the boot as having no metal toe cap, and it carries no safety rating. If your job needs safety boots, these aren't them.

Does it Have a Side Zip?
Some of the photographs show what looks like a zip down the inside of the shaft, with a strap tab over the top. The supplier lists the closure as lace-up and says nothing about a zip, so we can't promise one. Buy it as a lace-up boot.

Are they Any Good in the Wet?
Not really. The supplier lists them as not waterproof and the mesh panels are open to water. Wet grass in the morning is fine; standing in water is not.

How Long will they Take to Get Here?
Free Standard Delivery, 5 to 10 working days from the day you order. Allow 1–2 days for fulfilment. Regional and remote addresses can take longer.

Size Chart — Measure your Foot, Then Read Across

Heel against a wall, measure to the end of your longest toe. Find that length in the second column and order the label size beside it. These figures are the supplier's own chart.

Label Size Fits Foot Length US Size (Supplier's Figure)
39 245 mm (24.5 cm) 7
40 250 mm (25 cm) 7.5
41 255 mm (25.5 cm) 8
42 260 mm (26 cm) 9
43 265 mm (26.5 cm) 9.5
44 270 mm (27 cm) 10
45 275 mm (27.5 cm) 10.5
46 280 mm (28 cm) 11
47 285 mm (28.5 cm) 12
48 290 mm (29 cm) 13

The supplier's notes: the inside of the boot should be 0 to 1.5 cm (0 to 15 mm) longer than your foot; its measurements are taken by hand, so allow for a small error; if your foot is wide or thick, choose one size bigger, and if it is narrow and thin, one size smaller. Measure your foot, not an old boot.
