Pull it on, set the straps, forget it is there.

Most knee braces are a production. Hinges, metal stays, three buckles and a strap you can never get back to the same setting twice. You spend a minute fitting it, it shows through your work trousers, and by smoko you have loosened it off anyway.

This is the simple end of that shelf. A breathable knitted sleeve you pull on like a sock, with two elastic straps that cross over the front and fasten with hook-and-loop, so you set how firm it sits and leave it there. Nothing rigid in it — no hinges, no metal stays, no splints.

Sizes S to XXL, men and women. The supplier publishes a measurement chart for S through XL, so measure your leg before you order rather than guessing off your usual shirt size. Read the Q & A tab before you pick a size — it is the thing people get wrong.

What It Does
  • Compression all the way round: the knit is elastic through the whole sleeve, so it wraps the joint evenly instead of pulling from one side.
  • You set the firmness: two elastic straps cross the front and fasten with hook-and-loop, so how tight it sits is your call, not the factory's.
  • Breathable knit: an open weave rather than a solid neoprene wrap, which is what makes it wearable through a full session or a full shift.
  • Holds its position: with the straps set, the sleeve sits where you put it instead of relying on the top cuff alone to stay up.
  • Low profile: flat enough to go under work trousers or shorts with no buckle sticking out the side.
Where It Earns Its Keep
  • Kneeling work on hard ground: plumbing under a house, laying cable, servicing gear on a concrete pad — up and down all day with something firm around the joint.
  • Court sport: basketball and volleyball, where you want it firm and you want it to stay put through a game rather than shifting every time you land.
  • Under the overalls: it goes on at the start of the shift and stays under your trousers, so it is not something you take off and leave in the ute.
  • Gym and loaded lifts: squats and leg work where a hinged brace is far more gear than the job needs.
  • Long days on your feet: stock work, walking a fence line, a full day on hard floors — light enough that you are not aware of it after the first ten minutes.
Key Features
  • Knitted elastic sleeve: nylon rubber fibre, elastic through the body of the sleeve, not just at the cuffs.
  • Two adjustable wrap straps: elastic straps that cross over the front of the knee and set independently.
  • Hook-and-loop fastening: the supplier states the fastening tab is suede-backed.
  • Nothing rigid inside: no hinges, no metal stays, no plastic splints — it is fabric and elastic only.
  • Fitted sizes S to XXL: men and women, with a supplier measurement chart covering S to XL.
  • Four-step fitting: pull the sleeve up over the knee, then cross and fasten each strap in turn.
  • Green, grey and black: the only colourway the supplier lists.

Limits

This is a compression sleeve, not a treatment. It will not heal an injury or treat a knee condition. If your knee is painful or unstable, get it looked at by a doctor or physio first.

  • It is not a hinged brace: there are no hinges, no metal stays and no splints in it. If you have been told to wear something that physically stops the joint moving sideways, this is not that item and no amount of strap tension makes it that item.
  • It is not a kneepad: the front panel is knitted fabric, not foam or gel. It will not take the impact of dropping onto a concrete floor. Wear proper kneepads over the top if you are kneeling on hard ground.
  • Quantity is not stated: the supplier does not publish whether this ships as one sleeve or two, and there is no pair option in the size list — see the Q & A before you order.
  • The chart stops at XL: the supplier's measurement chart covers S to XL only. XXL is offered as a size but no measurements are published for it.
  • We cannot advise on your knee: what to wear, how firm to set it and how long to leave it on are questions for a doctor or physio. We sell the gear; we are not qualified to tell you how to use it on an injury.

Q & A

How do I pick a size?
Measure the circumference of your leg in two places with a tape: above the knee, where the top cuff of the sleeve will sit, and below the knee, where the bottom cuff will sit. The supplier labels those two rows "up" and "down" on its chart. Match both to the chart in the Specs tab — S is 33–37 cm (330–370 mm) above and 26–29 cm (260–290 mm) below, and it steps up from there to XL at 47–52 cm (470–520 mm) and 35–38 cm (350–380 mm). The supplier says to allow 1–2 cm (10–20 mm) variation between the chart and the item you receive. If you fall between two sizes, the larger one gives you more strap to play with.

There is no measurement for XXL — how do I order it?
Straight answer: the supplier does not publish one. The chart runs S to XL and stops. XXL exists as a size you can order but we have no figures for it and we are not going to make some up. If you are above the XL range of 47–52 cm (470–520 mm) above the knee, XXL is the one to order, but that is the extent of what anyone can tell you.

Is this one sleeve or a pair?
The supplier does not state it, and we are not going to guess — this is the single most common thing people get caught on with this kind of gear. The size list has no pair option, only S through XXL, which points to one sleeve per order. If you want one on each knee, order two.

Is it left or right specific?
Nothing in the supplier's listing or images marks a left and a right version, and there is one chart rather than two. The sleeve is a symmetrical tube and the straps cross either way, so the same item goes on either leg.

Will it show under work trousers?
It is a flat knit with elastic straps and no buckles or hinges, so there is nothing hard to catch on the fabric. Under loose work trousers or overalls you would not pick it. Under tight jeans you will see the outline of the straps.

Can I wear it for a whole shift?
It is a breathable open knit rather than solid neoprene, which is why it is built for a session or a shift rather than a few minutes. Set the straps firm, not choking. How long you should have compression on your knee is not something we can advise on — that is a question for a doctor or physio.

How do I wash it?
The supplier publishes no wash instructions, so this is our advice rather than theirs: treat it like any elastic knit. Cold hand wash, mild detergent, no bleach, and air dry it out of direct sun. Keep it out of the dryer — heat is what kills elastic. Undo the straps first so the hook-and-loop does not grab the knit and pill it.

How long will it take to arrive?
Allow 10 to 14 days from the day you place the order — that is counted from your order, not from the day we dispatch it. Allow up to 3 weeks, and longer again if you are regional or remote. Delivery is free to both Australia and New Zealand.
