Track My Order

A gun bag is only useful if your rifle fits.

You order a gun bag online, it turns up, and the rifle won't go in. Or it goes in, but the muzzle is pressing on the zip and the butt is sitting proud of the padding. Most listings quote one number and never say whether that number is the outside of the bag or the usable space inside it — and a 1.15 m bag does not take a 1.15 m rifle.

The rifle you didn't protect is the one rolling around in the back of the ute on a corrugated track. Knock a scope and it comes off zero. You won't find that out in the shed — you'll find it out on the range when the groups open up, and best case that is a wasted trip and an afternoon spent re-zeroing.

This is a soft padded carry bag in 800D nylon, in three lengths — 810 mm, 940 mm and 1.15 m — with a padded lined main compartment, retention straps inside, two webbing grab handles and padded backpack straps so you can walk in with your hands free. It is a bag. It is not a hard case and it is not a safe. What it does is stop your rifle getting knocked about between the vehicle and the firing line.

What we won't do is guess the fit for you. The supplier publishes the three sizes as 810 mm, 940 mm and 1.15 m and publishes no usable internal length for any of them. On any soft padded bag the space inside is shorter than the size on the label, because the padding and the zip take up room at both ends. So measure your own rifle, muzzle to butt, with the scope and anything else you run on it fitted, then give yourself margin. If it is close, take the next size up.

What It Does
  • Padded main compartment: lined and padded the full length, with retention straps inside so the rifle isn't sliding end to end every time you take a corner.
  • Carries on your back: two padded adjustable shoulder straps and a chest strap, so both hands stay free for a gate, a fence or a steep pinch.
  • Two grab handles: webbing handles for lifting it straight in and out of a vehicle without messing about with the straps.
  • Keeps small gear together: zip pouches and flap pockets on the front for magazines, ammunition and ear muffs, instead of them rolling around loose in the console.
  • ID window: a clear card window on the back panel so the bag has a name on it.
Where It Earns Its Keep
  • Ute to the range: the rifle travels padded and zipped instead of wrapped in a jacket on the back seat.
  • Long walk in from the gate: straps on and hands free, rather than carrying a bag by one handle for two kilometres.
  • Corrugated station tracks: padding and retention straps take the buzz out of a rough run so the scope isn't wearing every hit.
  • Sharing a vehicle: packed flat in the back rather than loose across the tray with everyone else's gear stacked on it.
  • Arriving with everything: mags and muffs live in the front pouches, so you don't get to the line and find your ear protection is at home.
Key Features
  • Three lengths: 810 mm, 940 mm and 1.15 m, as the supplier designates them.
  • Four colours: black, green, tan and CP camouflage.
  • Shell: 800D nylon, as stated by the supplier.
  • Main compartment: padded and lined, opens flat, retention straps fitted.
  • Backpack straps: padded and adjustable, with a chest strap across the front.
  • Grab handles: two webbing carry handles.
  • Front storage: two flap pockets at the top and two zip pouches lower down.
  • ID window: clear card window on the back panel.
  • Closure: full-length zips down the main compartment.

Limits

Straight up, here is what this bag will not do.

  • Not a hard case: it will not survive being driven over, dropped from height or buried under freight. Padding absorbs knocks and rubs. It does not take weight.
  • Internal length not published: the supplier states the sizes as 810 mm, 940 mm and 1.15 m and gives no usable internal measurement. Assume the space inside is shorter than the label and measure your rifle before you order.
  • No lock: the supplier specifies no lock and no lockable zip fittings.
  • No water rating: none is specified, so don't count on it in the weather.
  • Not a safe: it is a soft carry bag and nothing more. Transport and storage requirements for firearms are set by each state and territory and by the conditions on your licence. Follow yours. Nothing about this bag changes what they ask of you, and we are not the people to advise you on them.
  • Single rifle: the main compartment is one padded space and the supplier states no two-rifle capacity. Don't buy it expecting to carry a pair.
  • Some numbers are missing: padding thickness, bag width and depth, and weight are not published. We would rather tell you that than make a number up.

Q & A

What length rifle actually fits, and is 810 mm, 940 mm or 1.15 m the bag or the rifle?

The supplier publishes those three figures as size names only. It does not say whether they are the outside of the bag or the space inside, and it publishes no internal length. So we can't give you a fits-up-to number without inventing one. Measure your rifle muzzle to butt with the scope fitted, assume you get less room inside than the number on the label, and if it is close take the next size up.

Will a scoped rifle fit?

Depends on the rifle and the scope. Height matters as much as length here, because a big objective bell on high rings adds depth the padded compartment has to swallow. Measure both, and if you run a suppressor measure the rifle with it fitted.

Can I lock it?

No. There is no lock and the supplier specifies no lockable zip fittings.

Is it waterproof?

No water rating is specified by the supplier, so treat it as a bag that will not enjoy being left out in the rain.

Will it hold two rifles?

Not specified by the supplier. Treat it as a single-rifle bag.

Does it satisfy the storage rules where I live?

No. It is a soft bag, not a storage solution, and it is not built to meet any requirement. Transport and storage rules are set by your state or territory and by the conditions on your licence. Check those and follow them. We are not able to advise you on what they say.

How long is delivery?

Allow 10 to 14 days from the day you place the order, and up to three weeks to be safe. Regional and remote addresses take longer again. Delivery is free to Australia and New Zealand.
