Cold Air Straight Through the Helmet Vents?

The first ten minutes on the bike or the chairlift are fine. Then the wind finds the gap between your jacket collar and your helmet, and your ears, cheeks and neck go numb. A thick fleece balaclava fixes the cold but fogs your goggles and won't fit under the helmet.

This is a thin, stretchy knit balaclava made to go under a helmet. It covers your head, face and neck with one opening for the eyes, and there's an open mesh-knit panel over the mouth so you can breathe through it. The maker sizes it for heads 55 to 60 cm round; laid flat it's 36 cm long and 28 cm wide. Black, grey or white.

Limits

Thin, Not a Fleece. It's a light knit for wind and cool mornings, not a fleece for snow camping. For real cold, our Winter Thermal Fleece Half Face Mask is fleece.

Not a Dust or Fume Mask. The mouth panel is open knit for breathing. It doesn't filter dust, smoke or spray.

Not Fire-Resistant. It's synthetic knit. Not for welding or work near open flame.

One Size. Made for heads 55 to 60 cm round. Measure round your forehead if you're unsure.

Will my Goggles or Glasses Fog Up?

The mesh panel lets your breath out through the front, but any face cover can fog lenses in some weather. We don't promise it won't.
