Every job has one. The bolt behind the alternator bracket, the screw at the back of a switchboard, the fitting under the caravan bench — you can see it, you can touch it, but there's no room to swing a full-size ratchet and a screwdriver just spins in your palm.

These are palm-size 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) ratchet handles, 93 to 105 mm long, in chrome vanadium steel. The fine-tooth action needs as little as 5° of swing per click, so the fastener keeps moving in a gap your knuckles barely fit into.

One page, seven options: a double-ended handle with a square drive one end and a hex bit socket the other, single-ended bit and socket handles, two 60-tooth handles with a 9 mm ring end, and two boxed sets. The table under Specs shows exactly what each option ships with — the bare handles come with no bits or sockets, which is deliberate: most of us already own a drawer full.

What It Does

• Works in tight gaps: as little as 5° of handle swing per click on the 72-tooth handles, where a coarse ratchet needs several times the room.
• Engine bay jobs: sensor brackets, hose clamps and fixings behind the motor where a spanner won't sit square and a driver won't turn.
• Switchboard and cabinet work: runs terminal and gland fixings inside crowded enclosures without pulling gear out first.
• Rides in the crib bag: at 50 to 65 g a handle disappears into a pocket, glovebox or bike tool roll until the day it earns its keep.
• Uses gear you own: standard 1/4 inch sockets and 6.35 mm hex screwdriver bits click straight in.

Limits

Straight answers before you spend money:

• Bare handles ship bare: only the two sets include sockets or bits. Every other option is the handle alone — check the Specs table before you order.
• Hand tool only: this is bright chrome-plated steel, not black impact-rated gear. Do not run it on a rattle gun or impact driver.
• Access, not grunt: the supplier rates the double-ended handle at 50 N·m on the hex end and 34 N·m on the square end, and publishes no torque figure for the other handles. A palm-length handle cannot crack a seized bolt — never slip a pipe over it. Break the bolt loose with a full-size bar first, then use this to run it out.
• The head still needs room: mini, not magic. The supplier puts the double-ended head at roughly 20 mm deep, so a fastener down a narrow recess still needs an extension or a deep socket.
• Not stainless: chrome-plated chrome vanadium steel. Wipe it dry after wet work and give it the odd drop of oil — it is not made for living in salt spray.
• 60T lettering: one 60-tooth option has a through-hole ring end, the other a blind hole. The supplier labels them A and B without stating which is which — both are otherwise identical.

Q & A

Which option do I actually want?

Driving screwdriver bits? Take the Bit Handle. Driving sockets? The Socket Handle. The Socket & Hex Head does both from one double-ended tool. Starting from nothing, either set gets you working out of one pouch.

Will my existing bits and sockets fit?

Yes. The square-drive ends take standard 1/4 inch sockets, and the hex ends take standard 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) hex screwdriver bits — the same bits your impact driver uses, driven by hand here.

Can I run it on an impact driver or rattle gun?

No. Impact-rated tools are black phosphate chrome-moly; this is bright chrome-plated hand gear. Power it and you will shorten its life and maybe yours. Hand use only.

How hard can I lean on it?

The supplier states 50 N·m at the hex end and 34 N·m at the square end for the double-ended handle, and no figure for the rest. Treat every one of them as a finger-and-wrist tool. If you are putting your body weight into it, you are holding the wrong tool.

What is the difference between 60T-A and 60T-B?

Both are 60-tooth handles with a 6.35 mm hex opening one end and a 9 mm ring opening the other. One has a through-hole ring end (about 50 g), the other a blind hole (about 55 g). The supplier does not state which letter is which version.

Is the handle stainless steel?

No. An older version of this page called it stainless; the supplier's own artwork says CR-V chrome vanadium steel, so that is what we publish. It is chrome-plated, which is why it looks the part — but treat it as plated steel, not marine-grade.
