Two sleeve pockets that actually close.

A hoodie pouch is open at both ends. You crouch down to pick up a tool and your phone slides out onto the gravel. Or the keys go somewhere between the ute and the shed, and you find out at knock-off, standing in the car park patting yourself down. That is every hoodie ever made, and this one has the same pouch as the rest of them.

What it has that most do not is two pockets up on the sleeves that close. One upper arm carries a vertical zip pocket. The other carries a flap pocket on a press stud. Put a card, a key or a lighter in either one and it is still there when you stand back up — which is more than the pouch on the front can promise, and more than most sweatshirts offer at all.

Now the part the photographs get wrong. The two contrast straps running down the front are decoration. They are sewn-on tabs with a small metal loop, and there is no zip behind them — no teeth, no slider, nothing that opens. Look at the sleeve pocket in the same photograph and you can see what a real one looks like on this garment. The front is one plain kangaroo pouch, open at the sides. Three pockets in total, two of which shut.

The neck zip runs about half way down the chest. It is a pullover, not a zip-through — it goes on over your head and it will not open right out like a jacket. That is the trade you are making: no cold seam up the front, but taking it off means pulling it over your head.

Limits

Here is what this jumper will not do for you.

• The front straps are ornament: they look like zip pockets in the photographs and they are not. They are sewn on, they carry a metal loop, and there is nothing behind them. If you came here for four pockets, it has three.
• The front pouch does not close: it is a plain kangaroo pouch, open at the sides. Bend over with a phone loose in it and the phone comes out. Only the two sleeve pockets shut.
• It is not waterproof: no water rating has been published for it and none is printed on the garment. Rain will soak through it. Treat it as a jumper and put a shell over the top.
• It is not windproof: a knit sweatshirt with an exposed neck zip is not a wind barrier, and no figure has been published to suggest otherwise.
• Warmth is unquantified: the supplier has not stated a fabric weight, and has not said whether the inside face is brushed or fleece-backed. We are not going to tell you how warm it is when we cannot measure it.

Is it a pullover, or does the zip go all the way down?

A pullover. The zip starts at the collar and stops around mid-chest, so it goes on over your head. The name says "with zips" because of the neck zip and the zip pocket on the sleeve, not because it opens out like a jacket.

Is it fleece-lined inside?

Not specified by supplier. The listing photographs show the outer face only and no interior shot, and no fabric weight has been published. It is a polyester sweatshirt of unstated weight — that is as far as the evidence goes.
