Track My Order

Carry the lot in one trip, hands free.

You pull up at the spot with two tackle boxes, a bag, the pliers and the rods, and you have already run out of hands. Something stays on the seat. Something else gets put down on the bank and stays there. Then you are walking back for it instead of fishing.

The failure with tackle gear is rarely that it breaks. It is that it is not with you when you reach for it. A pack fixes that by putting the boxes, the tools, the glasses and the drink into one load on your back, with both hands free for the rods and for getting in and out of the boat.

This is the BassDash 3600-size tackle backpack. The lower compartment takes up to three large 3600-size utility boxes, the top compartment holds your personal gear, and a movable divider lets you decide where the line between the two sits. The utility boxes themselves are not included — read the Limits tab before you order.

What It Does
  • Holds three 3600 boxes: the lower main compartment is sized for up to three large 3600-format utility boxes, 272 x 178 x 42 mm each.
  • Splits into two zones: a movable padded divider separates personal gear up top from tackle below, or folds back to make one deep space.
  • Protects your glasses: a hard moulded sunglasses compartment in the lid, so polarised lenses do not get sat on.
  • Carries rods and nets: hook-and-loop straps and rod holder pockets on the side take a rod, a rod tube or a landing net while you walk in.
  • Sheds a shower: a rain cover lives in the back zip pocket and pulls over the whole pack when the weather turns.
  • Keeps tools to hand: a dedicated plier pocket, a mesh drink-bottle holder with a drawcord, and a large front pocket at 241 x 175 x 46 mm.
Where It Earns Its Keep
  • Walking in to a gorge pool: the spots worth fishing are the ones you cannot drive to. Everything on your back, both hands free for the scramble down.
  • Beach and rock work: the rubber feet on the base keep the fabric up off wet sand and off the salt, and the whole pack sits on the rocks without soaking through straight away.
  • Small boat or tinny: one pack instead of four loose items sliding around the floor, and the divider means you are not digging past your lunch to find a spool.
  • A trip on the quad or the bike: the MOLLE webbing, daisy chain and D-rings give you somewhere to strap the things that will not go inside.
  • Turning up mid-shift: the pack loads out of the ute in one grab, so an hour of light after work actually gets fished instead of packed for.
Key Features
  • 600D polyester shell: BassDash's published fabric figure for this model.
  • 400 x 200 x 500 mm: width x depth x height, stated by the supplier on the product images.
  • Movable divider: padded clapboard in the main compartment, repositionable.
  • Built-in rain cover: stowed in the rear zippered pocket, attached to the pack so it cannot blow away.
  • Moulded sunglasses case: hard-shell compartment in the top lid.
  • Four external pockets: front 241 x 175 x 46 mm, side 185 x 170 x 46 mm, side 155 x 145 x 41 mm, plus a plier pocket.
  • MOLLE and daisy chain: webbing and D-ring attachment points front and on the shoulder straps.
  • Padded, vented back: breathable mesh over a shaped back panel, with padded adjustable shoulder straps.
  • Chest and waist straps: elastic sternum strap with a whistle buckle, plus an adjustable webbing waist strap.
  • Rubber feet: moulded feet on the base to lift the fabric off wet ground and rough surfaces.
  • Three colours: green, camo and khaki — colour is the only choice at checkout.

Limits

Straight answers on what this pack will not do.

  • No utility boxes included: the pack ships as a bag. There is no "with trays" option on this listing — the only choice is colour — so budget for three 3600-size boxes on top of the price. BassDash sells a with-trays version overseas; that is not what is stocked here.
  • It is not waterproof: it is a 600D polyester bag with zips. BassDash's own name for it is "water resistant". The rain cover goes over the shell in a shower, but the outer pockets sit outside the cover and standing rain will get in eventually. Anything that must stay dry goes in a dry bag inside the pack.
  • The base is soft: rubber feet keep the fabric off the deck, but there is no rigid moulded base. Loaded it stands well enough; empty or half-full it will flop over on a wet boat deck.
  • The weight sits on your shoulders: three loaded boxes plus tools is a real load. You get padded shoulder straps, a sternum strap and a webbing waist strap — not a load-bearing hip belt with a frame. It is comfortable for a walk in to a spot, not for a multi-day hike.
  • Rod carry is a side strap, not a tube: the hook-and-loop straps hold a rod or net against the pack for the walk. They do not protect a tip section the way a hard rod tube does.
  • No insulation: it is not a cooler. Bait and lunch need their own cool bag.
  • Some figures are not published: BassDash does not state a capacity in litres or an empty weight for this model, and does not publish how many rod straps are fitted. We will not make those numbers up — ask and we will chase the supplier.

Q & A

Does it come with tackle trays or utility boxes?
No. This listing is the bag only, in green, camo or khaki. There is no tray option at checkout. The lower compartment is sized to take up to three large 3600-size boxes (272 x 178 x 42 mm each), which you buy separately.

What is a 3600 box, and will my existing ones fit?
3600 is a standard utility box format most tackle brands build to. If your boxes measure roughly 272 x 178 x 42 mm they will fit, three across the lower compartment. Deeper 3700-format boxes are a different size and are not what this pack is built around.

Is it waterproof? Can I leave it out in the rain?
No. It is water resistant fabric with a rain cover, which is a different thing. The cover handles a passing shower. Sustained rain, spray over the bow or a dunking will get water inside. Put anything critical in a dry bag within the pack.

How many rods will the side straps take?
The supplier does not publish a number. The images show hook-and-loop webbing straps on the side pocket for a rod, a rod tube or a net. Treat it as somewhere to secure a rod for the walk in rather than a rod rack.

How big is it and how much does it hold?
400 mm wide, 200 mm deep, 500 mm high. Capacity in litres is not specified by the supplier, so we have not put a number on it. The useful measure is three 3600 boxes below, personal gear above, and four external pockets.

Will it stand up on a boat deck?
Loaded, yes, and the rubber feet keep the base off the wet. Empty or lightly packed it will lean over. There is no moulded hard base.

How long will it take to get here?
Allow 10 to 14 days from the day you order, and up to three weeks to regional and remote areas. Delivery is free to Australia and New Zealand.
