Your kit on your chest, not buried in the pack.

You pull up at the gate, or you are twenty minutes into the scrub, and the thing you need is in the bottom of the pack. Torch, radio, snips, a roll of tape. So you drop the pack, dig, repack, and do the same again at the next stop.

Most days that is just annoying. On a bad day it is not. When someone is bleeding and the first aid kit is under a sleeping bag, the time you spend digging is the whole problem.

This vest puts the small gear on your chest where you can reach it one-handed with the pack still on your back. Three flap pouches across the lower front, a zipped side bag, a torch sleeve and a flat map pouch, all mounted on webbing so you can shift them or take them off. Front and back panels are covered in MOLLE webbing, so you can add to it or hang a pack off the rear.

It is a load carrier and nothing else. There is no armour in it, no padding, and no protective rating of any kind.

What It Does
  • Stops you dropping the pack: torch, radio, tape and snips ride on your chest, so you reach them one-handed without taking anything off.
  • First aid you can get at: the zipped side bag takes a compact kit that is not buried under a sleeping bag when it actually matters.
  • Farm and site runs: the three front pouches swallow gate keys, fencing pliers, a multimeter and a spare pair of gloves.
  • Hunting and long walks in: strip the pouches off and it runs as a light webbing shell, then clip them back on when you need to carry more.
  • Matches the country you are in: seven colourways, four of them camouflage patterns and three plain, so it either blends or it does not draw the eye.
  • Grows with your kit: MOLLE rows front and back take extra pouches, or a pack hung straight off the rear panel.
Key Features
  • Front panel size: 400 mm tall by 500 mm across, read off the supplier's own size panel.
  • Side adjustment: 60 mm of travel on each side, marked as adjustable on that same panel.
  • Four adjustment points: a ladder-lock buckle on each shoulder strap, plus a hook-and-loop panel and a strap-and-buckle on each side.
  • Triple front pouch: three flap pouches with press-stud closures, removable as one unit.
  • Zipped side bag: mounted on MOLLE webbing and removable.
  • Map pouch and torch sleeve: a flat hook-and-loop pocket on the centre chest panel with a narrow open-top sleeve beside it.
  • MOLLE both sides: webbing rows across the full front and the full rear panel.
  • Grab handle: a webbing handle across the upper back for picking the vest up.
  • Seven colourways: black, army green, khaki, ACU, CP, FG and digital camouflage — the gallery carries a photo of all seven together.
  • One size: there are no fitted sizes and the supplier publishes no size chart.

Limits

Read this part before you buy it. This vest is shaped like gear that protects you, and it does not.

  • It is not armour: there is no ballistic, stab or impact protection, no NIJ level or any other rating, no plate is included, no plate pocket is specified by the supplier, and no certificate has been sighted. Do not buy it as protection.
  • The handle is not a rescue handle: the webbing across the upper back is for lifting the vest. It carries no rated load and is not there to drag a person.
  • No water rating: none is published, so treat it as a fabric vest rather than wet-weather gear.
  • No fabric weight confirmed: the old listing on this page said 800D oxford. Nothing on the supplier's artwork states a denier, and other sellers of the same vest state 600D, so we have taken the figure off rather than publish one we cannot stand behind.
  • No chest range published: one size, adjustable, but the supplier states no minimum or maximum chest. The 400 mm by 500 mm panel is the number to measure yourself against.
  • Pouch capacities unknown: the supplier gives no internal dimensions for the front pouches or the side bag.
  • Not high-visibility: nothing on it is reflective and no part of it is tested or marked to AS/NZS 1906.4 or AS/NZS 4602.1.

Q & A

Will it stop a bullet or a knife?

No. Nothing on this vest is armour and none of it is rated. There is no NIJ level, no stab rating, no plate is included and no certificate has been sighted. It carries gear, and that is the whole job.

Will it fit me?

It is one size and it adjusts at both shoulders and both sides. The supplier's size panel puts the front panel at 400 mm tall and 500 mm across, with 60 mm of adjustment on each side. No chest range is published, so measure across your own chest and compare it against that 500 mm.

Can I hang a pack off the back?

Yes. The whole rear panel is MOLLE webbing, the same as the front, so anything with MOLLE straps will attach to it. The vest itself has no built-in rear compartment.

Do the pouches come off?

They do. The triple front pouch, the zipped side bag and the map pouch all mount on webbing and hook-and-loop, so you can run the shell on its own and build it back up as you need it.

What is it actually made of?

An oxford weave synthetic. The supplier's own artwork states no fibre and no denier, and other sellers of this same vest quote 600D with the fibre given as polyester in one place and nylon in another. Rather than pick whichever number reads best, we have left it unspecified.

How long does delivery take?

10 to 14 days from the day you order, and allow up to three weeks. Regional and remote addresses run longer again. Delivery is free to Australia and New Zealand.
