One-hand vlog kit: tripod, light and remote.
Filming yourself is a two-person job when there's only one of you on site. Prop the phone against a thermos and it slides. Hold it at arm's length and every step shakes the frame. Shoot at dusk and your face disappears into shadow.
This kit deals with all three at once. A pocket-sized folding tripod with a locking ball head doubles as a selfie stick, a spring clamp grips phones from 57 mm to 92 mm wide, a Bluetooth remote fires the shutter while you're in front of the lens, and a VIJIM VL81 LED panel puts adjustable warm-to-cool light back on your face.
It's a tabletop and handheld rig, not a full-height tripod, and it doesn't pretend otherwise: legs out on a bench, table or ute bonnet, or extended in your hand to 348 mm. The mount is the standard 1/4" camera thread, so it also takes action cameras, compact cameras and anything else with the same socket.
What It Does
- Steadies the shot: legs snap out for a bench-top tripod, snap in for a selfie stick or camera grip.
- Holds your phone, case and all: the detachable clamp spans 57–92 mm, which covers most phones on the market.
- Fires from in frame: the Bluetooth remote pairs with your phone's camera app, so you're in the shot instead of behind it.
- Lights your face: the VL81 panel dials from warm 3200 K to daylight 5600 K and runs on its own built-in battery.
- Carries a mic as well: a cold shoe on the phone clamp and three more on the light let you stack accessories.
Key Features
- Folds to 150 mm: the bare tripod packs shorter than a torch; 225 mm with the phone clamp left fitted.
- Extends to 348 mm: a three-section centre column adds 120 mm of height — 270 mm as a bare tripod, 348 mm with the clamp on top.
- 121 g with the clamp: supplier's own figure — lighter than the phone it holds.
- Lockable ball head: one knob angles the shot, portrait or landscape, and holds it there.
- Standard 1/4" thread: the clamp comes off and any camera or accessory with the standard socket screws straight on.
- Bi-colour LED panel: VIJIM VL81, 3200–5600 K, supplier-rated 850 lumen at 6.5 W, recharged over USB-C.
- Bluetooth shutter remote: included in the kit for phone cameras.
- Silicone grip points: non-slip handle wrap and rubberised feet for hard smooth surfaces.
- Two colourways: white or black, whole kit matched.
Limits
- No published load rating: the supplier states none, so we won't invent one. Phones, action cameras and small compact cameras are its territory — don't hang a full-size DSLR with a heavy lens off a tripod this size.
- Binoculars need their own thread: there is no binocular clamp in this kit. Binoculars with a built-in 1/4" tripod socket, or your own adapter, mount fine; binoculars without one don't.
- The remote drives phones only: it pairs with a phone camera app over Bluetooth. It will not trigger a Sony, Canon or any other standalone camera.
- Tabletop height, not eye height: 348 mm at full stretch. It stands on something or sits in your hand — it doesn't replace a full-size tripod.
- A fill light, not a floodlight: the VL81 lights a face at arm's length. It won't light a campsite.
- The props aren't included: the camera, microphone and phone in the photos show what mounts where. None of them comes in the box.
Q & A
What exactly is in the box?
The folding tripod, the detachable phone clamp, the Bluetooth shutter remote and the VIJIM VL81 LED light, in white or black depending on the option you pick. The camera and microphone in the photos are props showing mounting options.
Will it hold my DSLR?
The 1/4" screw fits one, but the supplier publishes no load rating and this is a 121 g pocket tripod. A small compact camera is fine; a full-size DSLR with a heavy lens is more than a tripod this size should be asked to hold.
Can I put my binoculars on it?
Only if they have a 1/4" tripod socket or you already own a binocular tripod adapter — there isn't one in this kit. Most roof-prism binoculars hide the socket under a cap on the front hinge; check yours before ordering.
Does the remote work with a real camera?
No. It's a Bluetooth shutter for phones — it pairs with the camera app on iOS and Android. Standalone cameras need their own remote.
How does the light charge and how long does it run?
Over USB-C, from any power bank or charger. The battery is a built-in 3000 mAh cell, and the supplier states roughly 2 to 2.5 hours at full brightness, longer dimmed. The supplier also states it can run while charging.
Will my phone fit with its case on?
The clamp opens from 57 mm to 92 mm. Most phones in cases sit around 80 mm wide, so yes for nearly all of them — measure the width if yours wears a heavy rugged case.
