50L Military Tactical Backpack Large Capacity

One big pocket is where gear goes to disappear.

Pack for a long weekend and it all ends up in the same hole. Sleeping bag on the bottom, first aid kit somewhere in the middle, head torch you needed twenty minutes ago sitting under the lot. So you tip the whole pack out on the ground in the dark to find one thing, and now everything you own is wet.

This pack is built around that problem. The main compartment shuts with a drawcord and a cord lock under a lid, not one long zip, so a bulky sleeping bag goes in and comes out without a fight. Inside there is a padded sleeve with a hook-and-loop strap for a laptop or a folder of paperwork. The big zipped pocket on the front takes the things you actually reach for — gloves, torch, snacks, first aid kit — without opening the main bag at all.

The supplier's own artwork gives the pack as 600 mm tall, 350 mm wide and 240 mm deep. Those are the numbers worth holding your gear up against. The litre figure in the title is the supplier's, and pack capacities are not measured to any standard anywhere in this market, so we will quote the dimensions and let you do your own sums.

What It Does

• Splits your kit up: main compartment, big front pocket, a second zipped pocket on the body and an open mesh pocket, so the torch is not living under the sleeping bag.
• Swallows bulky gear: drawcord top under a lid rather than a zip, which is the difference between stuffing a sleeping bag in and wrestling it.
• Carries a laptop: padded internal sleeve with a retaining strap, so a work machine or a document folder is not rattling around loose.
• Takes bolt-on pouches: rows of webbing across the front pocket and the lower body panel let you hang a pouch, a bottle carrier or a first aid kit outside the pack.
• Sheds a passing shower: the nylon shell handles drizzle and road spray. It is not a dry bag and we are not going to call it waterproof — see Limits.
• Blends or does not: ten colourways from plain black through khaki to five camouflage patterns, so it either disappears into the scrub or looks like ordinary luggage at the airport.

Limits

Here is what this pack is not, stated plainly.

It is not waterproof. The supplier's artwork prints the word "waterproof" beside a picture of the pack in the surf. No rating of any kind is published — no hydrostatic head figure, no IP number, no seam-seal spec — and no rain cover is supplied with it. Treat it as a nylon pack that handles drizzle and road spray and nothing more. Anything that must stay dry goes in a dry bag inside it.

"Military" and "tactical" are a style here, nothing more. This is not issued kit, it is not built to any defence specification, and a camouflage pattern is a print, not a credential. No standard is marked on the pack and no test certificate was sighted. If you need gear certified to something, this is not it and we will not pretend otherwise.

No frame and no published load rating. Nothing in the supplier's information mentions an internal frame, a frame sheet or a stay, and none is visible in the images. The waist strap is webbing, not a padded load-bearing hip belt, so the weight sits on your shoulders. That is fine for a heavy day pack or a short overnight carry; it is not a multi-day expedition hauler. No maximum load is specified by the supplier, so we cannot give you one.

The 50 litre figure is the supplier's, not ours. Nothing on the artwork states a capacity in litres and there is no industry standard for how a pack is measured. We publish the stated dimensions instead, because you can hold a tape measure against those.

One size, one back length. There is no adjustable torso length and no size range — the only choice is colour. Tall and short wearers get the same harness.

No hydration bladder and no stated bladder sleeve. The supplier does not list a hydration sleeve or a hose port, and none is shown. If you want a bladder, plan on a side bottle or a pouch hung off the webbing.

Q & A

Will it actually hold 50 litres of gear?

We cannot tell you, and neither can the supplier — there is no measurement standard behind a pack litre rating. What we can tell you is the stated size: 600 mm tall, 350 mm wide, 240 mm deep. Measure the gear you want to carry and compare it to that.

Is the MOLLE webbing real or just for looks?

Real. The images clearly show horizontal webbing rows stitched down at regular intervals into vertical channels, which is what a pouch strap threads through. The supplier does not publish the spacing, so if you have a pouch with an unusual strap width, check it against the pictures before you commit.

Will my laptop fit?

There is a padded sleeve with a hook-and-loop strap in the main compartment and the supplier's own image shows a laptop in it. No size is stated, so we cannot promise your machine fits. The pack is 350 mm wide externally, which is the ceiling — the sleeve is narrower than that.

Can I take it out in the rain?

Drizzle and spray, yes. Sustained rain, no — there is no rating published and no rain cover included. Line it with a dry bag or a heavy-duty bin liner and you have solved the problem for a few dollars.

Does it come in a plain colour for work?

Yes. Black, khaki and army green are all plain. The other seven are camouflage patterns, including desert digital, ACU digital and three multicam-style prints.

How long until it turns up?
