Warm layers usually stop at 3XL. This one runs to 9XL.
Most warm gear quietly runs out at 2XL or 3XL. If you are bigger than that you end up wearing whatever the shop had left over — something shapeless, too hot to actually work in, and too bulky to drive in. So it stays on the hook and you go cold instead.
This is a plain polyester fleece pullover with a stand-up collar and a zip that runs down to mid-chest. It starts at L with a 106 cm (1060 mm) chest and carries on through to 9XL at 158 cm (1580 mm). All ten sizes are on the selector, in all three colours — nothing is listed and then quietly unavailable.
Treat it as a mid-layer. It takes the edge off a cold start, sits under a work jacket without adding bulk, and it is the thing you are glad is behind the seat when the weather turns. It is not a shell. Wind goes straight through fleece and rain soaks it, so put a jacket over the top when it is blowing or wet.
What It Does
- Covers the sizes nobody stocks: ten sizes from L to 9XL, 106 cm (1060 mm) to 158 cm (1580 mm) across the chest, in black, brown and grey.
- Layers without bulk: single-layer fleece with no quilting and no separate lining, so it goes under a work jacket instead of replacing it.
- Closes the neck gap: the stand-up collar zips right to the top and covers the bit of throat a crew neck leaves open to the wind.
- Vents when you warm up: drop the zip to mid-chest and dump heat without taking a layer off in the middle of a job.
- Pulls on over a work shirt: loose through the body, so it goes on and comes off without dragging your shirt up with it.
- Lives in the ute: fleece packs down small, does not crease and does not mind being shoved behind a seat until you need it.
Key Features
- Fabric: polyester fleece, single layer, with the same brushed face inside and out.
- Collar: stand-up funnel collar, unlined, zipping all the way to the top.
- Zip: half zip finishing around mid-chest, not a full-length front.
- Shoulder construction: raglan-style shoulder seams with a yoke seam across the upper back.
- Cuffs and hem: plain hemmed, not ribbed and not elasticated.
- Published measurements: chest, body length and shoulder given in centimetres and millimetres for every one of the ten sizes — the full chart is in the Specs tab.
- Supplier weight guide: 47–60 kg suggested at L, through to 160–175 kg at 9XL.
- Colours: black, brown and grey, and every colour is available in every size.
- Cut: men's, loose through the body and the sleeve.
- Delivery: free to Australia and New Zealand, 10–14 days from the day you order — allow up to three weeks.
Limits
- Not windproof: there is no membrane in it and none is specified. Wind goes through fleece. On an exposed day you need a shell over the top.
- Not water resistant: no coating or finish is specified, and fleece soaks. It is not a rain layer and we are not going to call it one.
- No hood: it is a stand-up collar, nothing more. This listing used to describe it as a hoodie and that was simply wrong.
- No pockets: none at the front, none at the side. There is nowhere to put a phone or a set of keys.
- No wrist or hem seal: the cuffs and hem are plain hems, so cold air can travel up a sleeve when you reach overhead.
- No thermal rating: no fabric weight in gsm and no temperature figure is printed anywhere on the supplier's material. How warm it is depends on what you wear with it.
- Sized by chest, not by weight: the kilogram bands are the supplier's suggestion only. Measure across your chest and match the centimetre figure — that is the number that decides whether it fits.
- Girth grows faster than length: 9XL is 52 cm (520 mm) bigger in the chest than L but only 15 cm (150 mm) longer in the body. If you are tall rather than broad, body length is the figure to check first.
- Half zip only: it goes on over your head. If you want something you can open right up and shrug off, this is not that garment.
- Washing instructions unknown: the supplier publishes no care label, wash temperature or drying advice.
- Returns are faulty or not-as-described: change of mind is not covered, which is exactly why the full measurement chart is published below rather than hidden behind a generic size guide.
Q & A
Is it warm enough on its own through winter?
On a still, cold morning over a work shirt, yes for most people. The supplier publishes no fabric weight and no temperature figure, so we cannot put a number on it. Once the wind gets up or the rain starts, it is a mid-layer and it needs something over the top.
I am about 95 kg. Which size?
The supplier's guide puts 90–100 kg at 4XL, which measures 122 cm (1220 mm) across the chest, 74 cm (740 mm) in body length and 48.6 cm (486 mm) across the shoulder. Check those figures against a top that already fits you before you pick, because two blokes at 95 kg can be very different shapes.
Is the 9XL a genuine 9XL, or a smaller garment with a big label on it?
The supplier publishes 158 cm (1580 mm) chest and 81 cm (810 mm) body length for 9XL, and it is on the selector in all three colours. We have not had one on a tape ourselves, and the supplier states a 1–2 cm (10–20 mm) tolerance because the chart is hand measured. Those are the numbers to hold it to.
Is it fleece-lined, or just fleece?
Just fleece. It is a single layer with the same brushed face inside and out — the close-up of the collar shows it plainly. The old description mentioned a velvet lining; that was a supplier translation artefact and there is no separate lining in this garment.
Will it stop wind or rain on an exposed site?
No. Fleece is a warmth layer, not a barrier. No membrane, coating or wind-resistant finish is specified for this garment, so treat it as the layer that goes under your jacket rather than the one that keeps the weather out.
How dark is the grey?
The supplier's own product code calls it dark grey, but the photographs show a mid grey rather than a charcoal. The brown is a flat, dark tan. Judge it off the three-colour comparison image, and be aware that screens vary.

Chest is the flat garment measurement doubled, not your body measurement, and the supplier states a 1–2 cm (10–20 mm) tolerance because the chart is measured by hand. The kilogram column is the supplier's suggestion, not a fitting. Lay a top that already fits you flat, measure it across the chest, and match that figure.
