Ten drivers, and every size is marked on the handle.

You are half under the dash with a torch in your teeth and the driver you grabbed is one size small. It slips, it cams out, and now the screw head is chewed. A chewed head means drilling it out, and a ten minute job has turned into an afternoon.

Most cheap sets make that worse, because nothing on them is marked. You end up trying three drivers to find the one that seats properly. Every driver in this set has its size printed on the handle — 6x125mm, 4x75mm and so on — along with the tip designation, so you pick the right one first go and put it back where it came from.

Five Phillips and five slotted, running from a PH#0 that suits a switch plate up to a PH#2 with a 125 mm blade for decking and cabinet work. Two of the ten are stubby, 99 mm end to end, for the jobs where there is no room to swing a full handle. The tips are magnetised, so a screw sits on the end while you line it up one-handed.

What they are not is insulated. There is no VDE or IEC 60900 marking anywhere on these drivers, so they are for dead work and general repair — not for anything live.

Limits

Here is what this set will not do. Read it before you buy, not after.

• Not insulated: no VDE marking, no IEC 60900 marking, and the supplier states no insulation rating. These are not live-work tools. Isolate the circuit first, every time.
• Phillips and slotted only: no Torx, no hex, no square drive, no Pozidriv. If your fastener is a star or a hex socket, this set will not touch it.
• Not a precision kit: the smallest driver is a PH#0 with a 3 mm shaft. Glasses, phones and watch backs need a proper jeweller's set, not this one.
• Fixed tips: nothing swaps. It is ten separate drivers, not a handle with a tray of bits.
• No hardness figure: chrome vanadium is what the supplier states and what is stamped on the blades. No HRC number is published and no material certificate has been sighted.
• Magnet strength unstated: the tips are magnetised, but the supplier publishes no holding force. A large or heavy screw will drop off, and brass, aluminium and non-magnetic stainless will not stick at all.
• Do not hit the handle: there is no confirmed strike-through shaft or steel end cap, so treat them as plain-handled drivers and keep the hammer away.
• The ten pieces are the drivers: the zip case and the small magnetiser block both appear in the supplier photographs, and another seller of the same set lists both in the pack. Neither has been confirmed item by item here, so count the ten drivers as what you are paying for.

Q & A

Can I use these on electrical work?

Only on dead circuits. There is no insulation on the shafts and no VDE or IEC 60900 marking anywhere on the drivers or the packaging, so they carry no live-work rating at all. Isolate, test, then work. For live work you need drivers that are individually marked and tested to that standard, and these are not.

Exactly which ten drivers do I get?

Five Phillips: PH#0 3x75mm, PH#1 4x75mm, PH#1 5x100mm, PH#2 6x125mm, and a stubby PH#2 6x38mm. Five slotted: SL#3 3x75mm, SL#4 4x75mm, SL#5 5x100mm, SL#6 6x125mm, and a stubby SL#6 6x38mm. Will they do phones, glasses or electronics?

No. The smallest driver here is a PH#0 on a 3 mm shaft, which is a light switch plate rather than a phone chassis. Anything smaller than that needs a jeweller's or precision set.

Can I swap the tips for Torx or hex?

No. Each tip is fixed to its own shaft and handle. If you want interchangeable bits, a bit driver with a socket is a different tool and a better fit for that job.

How strong is the magnet on the tip?

Not specified by the supplier. In the supplier photographs the tips pick up and hold ordinary steel woodscrews. Treat it as enough to start a screw one-handed, not enough to hang a heavy bolt off — and it does nothing at all on brass or non-magnetic stainless.

One inconsistency worth knowing: the two stubby drivers are marked 6x38mm on the handle panels, while the supplier's dimension drawing labels the same driver 6x40mm with a 40 mm blade. The 38 mm figure appears on two separate supplier panels, so that is the one published above. Either way the overall length is 99 mm.
